Hope your summer is going well and that you and your families have had a break from the stress of your jobs, whether they be in public accounting, industry, government or otherwise. I would like to personally encourage each of you to consider making a contribution to the TSCPA-PAC of at least the $40 dues check off amount. For those of you who don't feel there is any direct value of making a PAC contribution, consider this:
Part of the Governor's school finance plan in the special session was to double your $200 "head" tax. Thanks to the efforts of TSCPA key persons who have access to legislators thanks to contributions to their campaigns from the TSCPA-PAC, this proposal was deleted. So a $40 annual investment is going to save you $200 per year! Despite this, however, the Wichita Falls Chapter only has about 10% PAC participation.
It is not too late to make a dues check off or other PAC contribution even if you have already paid your dues for this year. Let me know if you need more information.
