Thank you for your interest in Memorial Christian Church! In this church we care for each other as children of God who belong to one holy family. Our Purpose is To Love God and all people through worship, fellowship and compassion, making disciples and teaching them to follow Jesus Christ. Our membership is comprised of people who came from many differing denominations.

DIRECTIONS & MAP TO THE CHURCH

THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH (DISCIPLES OF CHRIST)

This congregation is a part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). This is a denomination born in America with origins on the frontier in the early 19th century. It is the largest denomination that was started in America. Since its beginning, the Disciples of Christ have worked to increase respect, understanding, and unity among believers of Christ.

As Disciples we strive to be obedient to the teachings of Jesus and the New Testament (Matt 28:20) by practicing a faith which is Bible based, socially relevant and intellectually sound. Members are held together in the family of God by their mutual relationships with God through Jesus Christ and the Body of Christ, the Church.

 THE LORD'S SUPPER

We celebrate communion every Sunday. We celebrate open communion. All people who believe in Jesus Christ, regardless of Church Membership, denomination, or creed, are encouraged to celebrate with us and experience the grace of Jesus Christ, which is remembered in this holy and awesome moment.

BECOMING A MEMBER

The only requirement to become a member of Memorial Christian Church is that a person is trusting in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and eternal life. If you are a born again Christian, then you are already one of us in the sense that we are Christians only. Membership is only an administrative recognition that Memorial Christian is the local church at which one chooses to worship and serve.

BAPTISM

We practice baptism by immersion for those who have reached an age of understanding and make a confession of their faith. It is recommended, though not required, that persons meet with the minister prior to their baptism.

For those who have already been baptized in another Church, re-baptism is not necessary; we accept other forms of Christian baptism. Only the public statement of faith is required for membership.
