All the youth perform local mission work as well as having fun locally and in Ft. Worth or Wichita Falls. Regularly scheduled meetings are on Sundays, immediately following worship.
The Junior Youth Fellowship, JYF, is made up of grades 3-5. This group is currently participating with the Chi Rho in their mission projects.
Junior High is known in the Disciples church as "Chi Rho," taken from the first two letters in the Greek word for Christ. The Chi Rho of Memorial Christian Church have set goals for ongoing mission work as well as for taking a mission work trip during the summer.
The High School Christian Youth Fellowship, CYF , meets Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. This group has in the past conducted youth-led worship on Youth Sunday, as well as participating in long-term projects.
All youth have the opportunity to participate in rallies and camps throughout the year.
BIBLE STUDY
Meets every Wednesday evening from 7 to 8. Other Bible study and special study opportunities occur throughout the year. Periodic studies include Disciples Heritage and New Testament Times (a study of Jesus' social surroundings).
The Christian Women's Fellowship is a women's organization that provides support and fellowship for the women in the church.
The CWF A.M. Circle meets the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m.
The CWF General Meeting is the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m., beginning with a salad supper followed by a business meeting, and ending with a Bible study, special program, or special speaker and worship.
The organization engages in various projects during the year and projects for our missionary field.
This newly organized group of men meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. to plan upcoming projects which will improve the quality of life in and around the church, in the lives of members, and in the community of Graham. These men are involved spiritually AND physically.
This year the men have sponsored a Pancake Breakfast as a fund-raiser, coordinated the hosting of the Central Area Assembly, conducted the Week of the Laity Sunday worship service, and held a church-wide rummage sale.
Upcoming projects will include using money from the rummage sale to build a new playground with and for the children of the church.
More information on Disciples Men, Christian Women's Fellowship, and Youth can be obtained from the Division of Homeland Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
MINISTRIES
Some of the fellowship groups at Memorial Christian Church could also be referred to as ministries. In addition to those, however, we are involved in the following.
Memorial Christian Church supports the Graham Crisis Center in an effort to relieve the needs of those in the community who lack food, clothing, basic furnishings, and require assistance with utilities due to hardship. Anyone in this situation is urged to contact the Graham Crisis Center at 940-549-6002. Contributions in the form of money as well as time can be made through contacting either the Crisis Center or the church office at 940-549-2499.
We have volunteers who meet the first Tuesday of each month to man the Graham Area Food Bank, taking information and distributing food to those less fortunate. These volunteers work from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., during the course of which they see a great deal of people.
We participate in the mission and ministry work of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) at the general level through our work at the congregational level. (Click here for information on the structure of the Disciples) This site does not have full explanations of these ministries, however the links below will provide information on each of these.
