No Expectations

I try to have no expectations about anything. Superficially, if you dont' expect anything, then when it doesn't happen, you won't be dissapointed. It goes much deeper than that, though.

You can't change the past, it's already happened. You can't deal with the future because circumstances will change and plans will fail. All you can do it deal with right now. If you don't make plans for the future, then God will present you with situations that take you along His path. Proverbs 14:12 says, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death." If you do not make plans, then there is not a way that seems right to you. All that's left is God's path.
