Firework Display Setup Page 2
AUSTRALIA

The first three photos are courtesy of Andrew Austin of Out Of This World Entertainment in Australia. (E-mail him HERE) A car rally at a race track in Canberra, Australia was the site for this display. Here is a close-up of the show mortars. Note the heavy-duty bases under the mortars and the sturdy supports half way up the mortars. These items enhance the safety of any display. This is an electrically fired display, the wires from the electric matches and the connection boxes can be seen. |

These two photos were provided by Dr. Paul Marriott. He photographed a display in Budapest, Hungary that was fired by Pyro-Technic Ltd. Pyrotechnicians can be seen setting up this huge bridge show, on the right side of the photo. |

Brian Lim of PYRO-Works sent this photo of a large rocket rack ready to fire a volley of hundreds of rockets. His web site is www.designerwebs.net/pyroworks and his e-mail address is designer@designerwebs.net. Brian also designs web sites and gives a discount to any fireworks company wanting a web site. www.designerwebs.net |

Graham Mann got the job of staging the bonfire night display where he works. He seemed to think I might not be impressed with 2000 pounds worth of fireworks like these. Are you joking? Every real fireworks lover, including me, can't help but drool at an impressive mountain of goodies like that. He said the show lasted 40 minutes. Wish I could have been there to see it !!! |
EL SALVADOR

In some locations it is legal and safe to stage firework displays in your own back yard. Alberto Ferracuti lives in El Salvador and does exactly that, several times each year. Alberto fires shells, display cakes and other fireworks, to the delight of his family and friends. With such a lush, beautiful location, fire danger is minimal, but fire hoses are still ready during his shows. |

The next two shots are the setup for a Guy Fawkes bonfire night display fired near Coventry, as a benefit for the Boy Scouts. The display was done by Gary and James Forsythe. Medium and large display cakes are up front, then shell-head rockets, and the shell mortars are the most distant from the audience, as they should be. |

Reverse view showing the 3 inch (75 mm) and 4 inch (100 mm) mortars in the foreground. A row of larger mortars can be seen in the photo above. Note the barriers at the top of the photo. The closer one encloses the setup area and a farther one limits how close spectators can be during the display. |

Jonathan Young of Jonathan's Fireworks submitted this setup photo of a recent show. Mortar racks must be sturdily designed so they cannot possibly fall over when firing. Legs on these mortar racks perform that function well. |
