FIREWORK DISPLAY SETUPS FROM AROUND THE WORLD
CANADA

This dock setup was sent to me by Dave Lewis of the Bear River Fire Department, Nova Scotia, Canada. There are four qualified fireworks supervisors on their crew. Note the use of triple steel bars to stabilize the 3 to 6 inch mortars. Larger guns are stabilized in barrels filled with sand. |

A wide shot, showing part of the 5500 shell mortars used in this display for China's 50th Anniversary of the Republic celebrations. Shells of 5 inch diameter (125 mm) to 12 inch diameter (300 mm) were used in this show. |
ENGLAND
![]() |
This photo shows items necessary for a traditional display in England,
just unloaded from the truck. Large shell-head and flash report rockets are
featured there, thus fewer aerial shells than in American shows. Since wheels,
Roman candle batteries and other ground-based items are also used, lumber
is required for the setup.

Part of the setup for a display in the Gunning, Australia area. Smaller
shells are in racks staked for stability and large mortars are individually
staked.

European Fireworks Competition 2000
![]() |
This is the setup area for the 2000 European Firework Championship
Competition. Ten countries competed in this event. Portugal and Italy are
preparing their fireworks in this photo. You are seeing a pier that looks
like a ship because part of an actual ship was added to the end of the pier
when it was renovated in 1999.
Thanks to Dennis Verduijn for this excellent photo. |
