Teen Wildlife Explorer Package
An Outdoor Educational Adventure

This package actually consists of a special program to expose teens to the true outdoors. We have found that many urban young people just do not get to experience nature's real wonders as we are fortunate to do daily here at our Ranch Headquarters. This tour/trip package was developed around just this need - - an up-close and personal excursion into real daily living experiences in the great out doors! Our objectives are to include a heavy dose of informal but field-useful knowledge and skill building experiences. Participants on this exciting outing will bond with nature and come back with some real and noticeable personal growth! The vehicle of choice is the American canoe! The location is set in the upper Brazos River Canyon at the Northern head of the Texas Hill Country. Warm days and tolerable nights, usually clear, and coupled with some remote back country create a perfect environment for some of our training and subtle educational developments! Wildlife is abundant, and so is the general discussion about game management strategies, land use, critical problem issues, and the like. Environmental concerns, ecological developments, and several broad topics are linked with the development of sound daily living skills when in the country. Every participant will gain important appreciation for America's resources and an understanding of the various ways to best enjoy this unique and beautiful heritage!

The trip is designed around teens, but accompanying parents have enjoyed the adventure also. There is limited trip capacity on each booking to assure appropriate levels of personal attention from staff guides and to handle safety matters. This package covers it all! A lifetime of memories will definitely be associated with this outing! Our goal is to actually see personal growth and development in the short but very intense situation developed by this environment. In the three night - four day adventure, orientation/evaluation, gear assignments, safety awareness, wildlife lore, survival training, effective skill-building in geology, tracking, weather, canoeing, fishing, photography, back country hiking, and much more all take place. The evening campfire discussions and stories are truly intense and exciting! All gear except personal articles (cameras, sunscreen, medicines, clothes, etc.) are provided. Approved Trip Associates skilled at guiding this adventure are assigned to each booking. This choice of unique outings is a wonderful experience to send a teen along for! Much is offered to each participant in an individual fashion or small group setting. Sponsors may be available to grant a scholarship to deserving individual participants.
